Auburn football: What you need to know entering final weekend before season opener

North of the border
It’s not all about the NFL when it comes to former Auburn football players.
Duke Williams didn’t have the greatest ending to his Auburn football career, but he’s starting to make up for it with big performances in the Canadian Football League.
The former Auburn receiver caught a 95-yard TD pass Thursday for the Edmonton Eskimos and with games still left on the schedule this week, leads the CFL in receiving yards with 947. He’s second in the league with seven TD receptions. Here’s what he did Thursday, if you missed it:

And if you didn’t catch it, Williams did a 20 questions with the CFL and you can watch the video here.
Williams isn’t the only former Auburn football player doing well north of the border. Former quarterback Nick Marshall was named one of the CFL’s top performers last week. Marshall intercepted a pass and returned it 67 yards for a touchdown (his second interception of the season, both went for scores) and he became the first Saskatchewan player since 1963 to score on defense and offense when he added a 3-yard touchdown run.
Also, Tre Mason (also Saskatchewan) is ranked 10th in the league in rushing with 306 yards on 54 carries. He’s yet to score a touchdown but has a long run of 42 yards and his best game came against Edmonton when he ran seven times for 62 yards, including that 42-yard run.
Check back next week when we’ll have a thorough update on all former Auburn football players in the professional ranks.
