Auburn vs. Pac-12

This is the first time Auburn and Washington have met on the football field. So there’s nothing to be learned from a previous meeting a few years ago or 50 years ago when none of the players in the game were alive.

But, we can tell you this: Auburn is 8-3 against current Pac-12 teams and the last time the Tigers played a Pac-12 team was in Gus Malzahn’s first game as head coach when Auburn defeated Washington State, 31-24, in 2013 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

More good news, if you’re reading into these sorts of statistics: Auburn is 5-0 in neutral-site games against Pac-12 teams. But in season openers the record falls to 4-3.

One side note: The winner of the game Saturday receives the Old Leather Helmet trophy.
