The Auburn football team beat Washington in Week 1, moved up in the polls and play an FCS opponent on Saturday.

Things should be good on the Plains. And there’s no reason to believe they aren’t.

With Alabama State coming to town for the first home game of the season, the Tigers should have an opportunity to correct mistakes from the 21-16 win against the Huskies, get more people playing time and allow the players who are dinged up to heal.

A lot of the focus from the victory has centered around the run game. Auburn totaled 147 yards on the ground against a very good Washington defense. It’s a far cry from the trouble the Tigers had against Clemson in Week 2 last season and the season opener in 2016.

Plus, there’s a lot more to dissect from the game and most of it is good. Very good.

So let’s take a look at those things, what it meant in the victory and what it means moving forward for the Auburn football team.
