Auburn football predictions: Expecting lots of yards, many points, blowout victory in Week 2

The Auburn football team opened the season with a hard-fought win against a top-10 team, but its Week 2 matchup shouldn’t provide anywhere near the drama.
The No. 7 Auburn football team and its coaches won’t say it, but we will: The Tigers should beat Alabama State in every way possible Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Alabama State is playing Auburn for the first time and the FCS school simply doesn’t match up against the Tigers. Auburn has had its issues against a couple of FCS schools in the past, but that’s not expected to be the case Saturday.

You’ve read how we feel about this one and what we expect. Lots of yards is one thing, for sure. And that will lead to a lot of points. The tough thing about a game like this for an overmatched Auburn opponent is that the second- and third-team players are talented and hungry, too. It’s going to be difficult for the Hornets to keep the Tigers out of the end zone. And that’s all I’m going to say about that.
Prediction: Auburn 63, Alabama State 0

According to Alabama State’s twitter Auburn is next. If Mercury and all the other planets go back into retrograde and a meteor hits Earth then I will give this game to Alabama State, but Auburn will handle them easily. The biggest competition I am worried about this weekend is between the bands.
Prediction: Auburn 42 Alabama State 13

The Monstars could come in and steal talent from Auburn this week and we’d still whip them into submission. A bakery couldn’t make a softer cupcake. This is a game when you can have company over that you know will talk the entire time and disrupt you watching the game. You’re not gonna miss anything. Boobee and Kam each run for 100 miles and Stidham tosses two touchdowns before being benched the second half. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s much more production from everyone considering Alabama State has been running their mouths all week.

Auburn comes off of a tough matchup and hard-fought victory against Washington with a ton of momentum. Alabama State will walk into a rowdy Jordan-Hare Stadium and just hope to get out healthy. Auburn wins easily, and we likely see young Tigers get experience in garbage time.
