Auburn football: Ranking top 10 Tigers through first four games of 2018
By Rob Maxwell
10. Marlon Davidson
Marlon Davidson physically struggled through last season. He wasn’t the same player he was when he started as a freshman and often looked like the best play on the defense.
It’s obvious this season that he’s healthier. He’s moving better, has better energy and his emotion is a driving force on the Auburn defense.
He is tied for sixth on the team with 13 tackles, has 1.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and leads the team with 6 quarterback hurries.
Auburn needs him even more over the final eight games. Arkansas and LSU found ways to neutralize the Tigers’ pass rush. Auburn keeps getting close to the quarterback, but not close enough in some instances.
Davidson is the key to that changing. Sacks and tackles for loss are contagious and Davidson is a guy who can light that match.
