Auburn football: Ranking top 10 Tigers through first four games of 2018
By Rob Maxwell
6. Jarrett Stidham
Yes, Jarrett Stidham is at No. 6. Why, where would you place him?
Higher? Lower? Not even in the top 10?
He’s the quarterback and it’s unavoidable that he finds his way onto this list even though his start has been less than eye-popping.
But he was very good against Washington (273 yards), did all he needed in a half against Alabama State, but missed some opportunities against LSU and Arkansas.
But everyone knows that if Auburn is going to finish this season strong, it needs Stidham to climb on this list. If he ends the season No. 1 here, then a lot of things have gone right. If he stays in the 4-6 range, chances are the season has ended in disappointment.
Like Whitlow, Stidham has to adjust to a new offensive line. He realizes he’s going to be placed in difficult situations, but that’s why he’s one of the best in the SEC, because he can make something out of nothing.
Auburn needs more of that starting Saturday vs. Southern Miss.
