If you needed a new playlist to listen to while operating the grill this summer then look no further than a soundtrack representing the history of Auburn football.

Have you ever been driving down the road with your Spotify on shuffle when you hear a song that just reminds you of an important Auburn moment? That is exactly what has happened to me throughout my many road trips this summer and rather than keep this gold from you all I have decided to assemble the ultimate Auburn football playlist.

Each of these songs represent historical or memorable Auburn football games.

Track 1: ‘The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia’-Reba McEntire

Auburn 40 Georgia 17 November 11, 2017.

Track 2: ‘Everybody Hurts’-REM

Auburn loses to Florida State with 13 seconds remaining in the 2013 National Championship Game.

Track 3: ‘No Time’-The Guess Who

Auburn defeats Alabama with one second remaining on the clock in the 2013 Iron Bowl.

Track 4: ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’-LL Cool J

Cam Newton leads a 24 point comeback to defeat Alabama in the 2010 Iron Bowl.

Track 5: ‘What Have I Done to Deserve This?’-The Pet Shop Boys

Auburn blows a 20 point lead to lose to LSU 27-23 on October 14, 2017.

Track 6: ‘Fire’-The Ohio Players

1996: Auburn battles against LSU as the sports arena affectionately known as “The Barn” was ablaze behind the north end zone. The Barn was a total loss.

Track 7: ‘Tubthumpin’-Chumbawumba

“HONK IF YOU SACKED BRODIE” November 19, 2005, Brodie Croyle gets knocked down and he gets up again 11 times.

Track 8: ‘I’m Bored’-Iggy Pop

September 13, 2008, Auburn 3 Mississippi State 2. If the actual game was as boring as it was on TV then I apologize to all Auburn and Mississippi State fans.

Track 9: ‘Let’s Go Crazy’-Prince

Rod Bramblett with the famous radio call, Cadillac Williams goes crazy on Alabama by running for an 80 yard touchdown on the first play.

Track 10: ‘Can I Kick It?’-A Tribe Called Quest

December 2, 1972: Alabama leads 16-0 going into the fourth quarter, Auburn’s Bill Newton blocks two of Greg Gantt’s punts that were scored for touchdowns by David Langner. AUBURN WINS! 17-16! Yes you can kick it, Bama!

Track 11: ‘All I Need is a Miracle’-Mike and the Mechanics

Nick Marshall drops back for a hail mary on 4th and 18 and miraculously connects to Ricardo Louis after an IMMACULATE deflection. AUBURN WINS! 43-38!

Track 12: ‘I Feel the Earth Move’-Carole King

The LSU Tigers upset Auburn in the swamp 7-6 and celebrate so hard they make the Earth move!

Track 13: ‘Defying Gravity’-Wicked, The Musical

November 27, 1982, greatest athlete of all time Bo Jackson defies gravity and jumps over an entire defensive line to give Auburn a coveted victory against Alabama.

Track 14: ‘Welcome to the Jungle’-Guns and Roses

1989 Iron Bowl, the Alabama Crimson Tide travel to Jordan Hare for the first time and Auburn upsets number two Alabama 30-20. Pat Dye gave his infamous locker room speech following the Tigers’ victory.

Track 15: ‘Swamp Music’-Lynyrd Skynyrd

Tommy Tuberville led a team of unranked Tigers to the swamp to compete against the likes of Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, and a number 4 ranked Florida team. With four seconds left, Auburn kicker Wes Byrum was forced to nail TWO 45 yard field goals after Urban Meyer attempted to ice him out. BYRUM NAILED EM BOTH! TIGERS WIN 20-17.

Track 16: ‘Comfortably Numb’-Pink Floyd

Track 17: ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’-Charlie Daniels Band

An interesting battle between Auburn and Georgia, Auburn meets Georgia in Columbus, defeats the undefeated bulldogs 27-13, and ruins their hopes at claiming a National Championship. Ouch.

Track 18: ‘Have a Cigar’-Pink Floyd

When the Auburn Tigers defeated LSU 41-7 on Tommy Tuberville’s birthday in 1999 he told the boys they’d be celebrating with cigars down in Baton Rouge.

Track 19: ‘Loser’-Beck

A classic song that summarized our thoughts and feelings perfectly after losing at home to Tennessee in 2018.

Track 20: ‘I’ve Created a Monster’-Hello Operator

When the Auburn Tigers failed to defeat UCF in the Peach Bowl on a chilly New Year’s Day in 2018, they created a monster that went onto claim a national championship and hold a parade in Disney World.

Track 21: ‘In the End’-Linkin Park

When Auburn defeated both Georgia and Alabama in 2017 only to lose to Georgia in the SEC Championship they set themselves up with the horrible dilemma of later seeing their two biggest foes compete against each other for the national championship.

Track 23: ‘Feels Like the First Time’-Foreigner

Auburn and Georgia face off against each other for the first time sparking a rivalry full of angst and passion in 1892. Auburn shuts out the dogs 10-0, WDE.

Track 24: ‘Iron Man’-Black Sabbath

Alabama and Auburn square off against each other in the first Iron Bowl in the middle of the Iron City itself. Auburn wins 32-22, WDE.

Track 25: ‘Fly Like an Eagle’-Steve Miller Band

On August 31, 2000 history was made when Auburn began to fly iconic eagles War Eagle VI or Tiger before kickoff. One of the greatest traditions in college football, it keeps the spirit of Auburn football fans alive and unifies fans far and wide.

Track 26: ‘All I Do is Win’-DJ Khaled

An Auburn anthem since the Tigers’ 2010 National Championship, it would truly be LUDACRIS for me to leave off a song embedded in Auburn game tradition.
