Today 5 star PG Sharife Cooper visited Auburn amidst reports that he is close to finalizing his college decision and no longer in talks with Kentucky.

After losing Jared Harper and Bryce Brown the future at point guard was uncertain. The duo is irreplaceable and beloved in the hearts of every Auburn fan and when the reality of losing the duo set in, it set in hard. On the heels of nearly competing for a national championship fans everywhere starting contemplating how the Tigers would make it again in the future. I started thinking about it the next day in the team hotel lobby in Minneapolis.

Nothing made me more excited than the possibility of landing 5 star point guard Sharife Cooper. Cooper played alongside Auburn commit Isaac Okoro and together the two dominated the court. Cooper is nationally ranked in the top 20 for the class of 2020 across ESPN, 24/7, and Rivals and he was ranked first in USA Today’s Chosen 25 for 2020. If that doesn’t already grab your attention Cooper was named All-USA Player of the Year.

These aren’t even all of his awards, but you get the main idea. This kid is obviously putting up monster numbers. If you’re curious go take a look, you’ll be glad you did.

I’m too excited right now to feed you all stats and accolades BECAUSE Sharife Cooper had an unofficial on-campus visit to Auburn today AND is rumored to no longer be in talks with Kentucky. It would appear that his mind could be made up. This is Cooper’s sixth visit to Auburn since being offered in 2016 and Bruce Pearl has been absolutely relentless in his recruitment unafraid to go head-to-head against coaches like John Calipari.

There is no debate, if Cooper commits to Auburn he sees the court and makes an impact immediately. Last season he led McEachern to a perfect 32-0 record and the Georgia 7A State Championship. He’s tenacious, fast, smart, skilled, and his level of play makes everyone around him play harder. Oh, and he can shoot the ball from anywhere so if you find yourself yearning for the downtown shots of Jared Harper and Bryce Brown then look no further.

I dream of Bruce Pearl coaching him. Lord, we have seen what he has done with Bryce Brown and Jared Harper and we want the same for Sharife Cooper.

Cooper’s most recent unofficial visit to Auburn comes after a busy July of playing in the Nike Peach Jam and the USA Basketball Minicamp. As the upcoming senior prepares for his final year of high school it would appear he’s made his decision and is ready to commit to Auburn. As of right now we wait and obsessively refresh our timelines.

While you wait check out Cooper’s former and potential future teammate Isaac Okoro:
