Jalen Green is set to decide between Auburn, Memphis and going straight to the pros April 16 around 1 p.m. EST.

Green is a consensus top three, five star guard in the class of 2020 who is ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit by ESPN.

Auburn hosted Green for an official visit in September, and he visited alongside Auburn signee Sharife Cooper, who committed to Auburn on the same visit with Green in attendance. (Read the full story about Auburn’s history with Green here)

In recent days, Green taking the professional route has gained most of the momentum. However, there are still whispers and rumors circulating that Green’s relationship with Cooper or his relationship with Memphis’ coaching staff has been enough to still give the college route a chance.

The national perception is that Green will choose the professional route, considering 79-percent of 247sports’s crystal balls predict Green to go pro. But, Green’s friend Josh Christopher recently went against every crystal ball prediction he received when he committed to Arizona State University.

It’s unclear what Green will do. Green’s original announcement said his decision would be made on his Instagram account (@Jalen) on Instagram live. If Green commits to Auburn, the Tigers’ class will be ranked No. 5 in the country and number two in the SEC behind Kentucky. A scorer of Green’s caliber could give Auburn the looks of an immediate contender.
