The Auburn running back room is loaded for 2020. Despite the surprise transfer of Boobee Whitlow this offseason, the Tigers still have D.J. Williams, Shaun Shivers and former four-star recruit Mark Antony-Richards.

However, while the Tigers have a ton of young talent at RB, the most talented of them all might be Cartavious “Tank” Bigsby.

Once considered a surefire five-star recruit, Bigsby saw his recruiting ranking dip due to an injury. Nonetheless, Bigsby was still considered a top-20 recruit in the nation according to ESPN as well as the second-best running back in the class of 2020.

At 6-foot tall and nearly 210 pounds, Bigsby already has the look of an elite back. Touted for his combination of agility and power, Bigsby has drawn comparisons to NFL backs, Derrius Guice and Ezekiel Elliot.

Head coach Gus Malzahn has been very high of his freshman back as well as he told Brian Woodham of the Auburn Villager in 2019:

"“He’s a one-play drive type of guy,” said Auburn coach Gus Malzahn. “I mean from anywhere on the field, he can take it to the house."

Similar to Williams last season, don’t be surprised to see Bigsby earning a larger role in the offense as the season progresses. The only thing holding Bigsby back is the Tigers’ significant depth at his position.
