Auburn football: UNC QB Sam Howell could present problem for Tigers

As mentioned before, the Tarheels have some adequate return options with Newsome and Carter but neither were spectacular in the return game last season.

At kicker, RS junior Noah Ruggles is the returning starter at the position. While Ruggles went a respectable 16 of 18 in field goals under 30 yards, his overall stats on the year (19 of 27) placed him near the bottom of the ACC in field goal accuracy.

The team went to Dublin, Ireland-born freshman Ben Kiernan for punting duties last year. However, Kiernan’s 41.32 yards per punt placed him in second-to-last among the conference’s punters in that category.

While Auburn certainly has questions of its own to face when it comes to the special teams, so does its opponent.
