One of the most important parts of Ole Miss’ offseason is choosing a starting quarterback. Redshirt sophomore Matt Corral appeared in 10 games for the Rebels last season making four starts in the process.

The former top-100 recruit led the team with 1,366 passing yards and also chipped in six touchdowns and three interceptions on 59.0 completion percentage.

Sophomore John Rhys Plumlee is the other option for the Rebels. A true dual-threat QB, Plumlee surprised many by his impressive freshman season in 2019. In nine games, Plumlee only completed 52.7 percent of his passes for 910 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions.

However, 6-foot, 192-pound quarterback led the team with 1,023 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Even more impressive, Plumlee’s 113.7 rushing yards were more than any other player in the SEC last year.

Plumlee would be my pick for the Rebels starting quarterback due to his athleticism and versatility but he’ll definitely need to improve that accuracy if he wants to be a true threat. If Kiffin wants to move to a more balanced offseason don’t be surprised to see Corral under center but either way, the Rebels have two talented yet largely unproved options at QB.
