Auburn football: Taking a look at the Tigers’ top 2021 draft prospects
K.J. Britt was given the starting mike linebacker position in 2019 and he took that opportunity and absolutely ran with it. In his first year as a starter, Britt recorded 68 tackles which ranked third on the team and the most of any returning player.
Britt also showcased his strong athleticism and ability to get after the ball with 10 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
Britt was Auburn’s most productive linebacker last season and as he enters his senior season, Britt has the potential to be an All-SEC type player.
At 6-feet tall and 236 pounds, Britt likely doesn’t have the size to be a first-round selection but if he continues to build on last season, he could absolutely see his name called in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft.
However, while I say that, draftsite.com has Britt going with pick No. 31 in their recent 2021 mock. Auburn hasn’t had a linebacker go in the first round of the draft since Takeo Spikes in 1998 so if Britt can live up to that, it would be quite the accomplishment.
