Big Kat Bryant will no longer be shadowed by the likes of Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson in 2020. As a result, Bryant could very well be in line for a major breakout season.

The Tigers’ starter at the “buck” position last season, Bryant only recorded 16 total tackles, two TFLs, 1.5 sacks and one interception but Auburn expects big things out of the rising senior.

Bryant was an All-SEC freshman performer in 2017 and has just been looking for his chance to shine since then. He’ll likely get that shot in 2020 and that could vault him into an early-round projection for the 2021 draft.

At 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, Bryant isn’t likely to be big enough to play defensive line at the next level. Similar to former Tiger Carl Lawson, Bryant will likely project as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level.

It won’t be easy to follow in the footsteps of Davidson and Brown but Bryant is one of Auburn’s most experienced defenders going into the 2020 season and should be one of the leaders of the defense without a doubt.

While he’s probably not a first-round prospect, Bryant does have the physical tools and talent to see his name called within the first few rounds of the 2021 draft.
