The Chicago Bulls are expected to have the seventh pick in the 2020 draft and although there may be more tantalizing and offensive-minded prospects available, Okoro would make perfect sense for Chicago.

For one, it’s clear that the Bulls have tried to instill a culture of defense and hustle in the last few seasons. Despite going 22-43 this season, the Bulls ranked in the top half of the league in defensive rating and points allowed and ranked first in the entire NBA with 10.0 steals per game.

Okoro would fit perfectly in a defense-first system and with the team already having established scorers like Zach LaVine (25.5 points per game), Okoro wouldn’t be asked to do too much on that side of the ball.

Okoro could fit in perfectly at small forward either behind Otto Porter or as the starter if the team decides to move on from Porter. The addition of Okoro would add to Chicago’s talented young core of LaVine, Coby White, Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr.

With the GarPax era now over in Chicago, Okoro could be the glue guy that finally leads the Bulls to success.
