Some of the greatest players in Auburn football history have come from junior colleges.

If you’ve ever watched Netflix’s ‘Last Chance U’ you’ll know that junior college football is a whole different beast than what most people are used to watching on Saturdays. At the same time, JUCO has provided teams across the country with a vital pipeline of talent.

Over the years, Auburn has certainly been one of those teams. Although many junior college players end up playing less than the three or four seasons that a traditional recruit would, many of these transfers have gone on to build major legacies on The Plains with some being considered among the best players in program history.

Whether they left their original schools because of off-the-field issues or they simply weren’t happy with a particular coaching staff or lack of playing time, Auburn has excelled in giving these players a second chance at college football glory.

While recruiting JUCO players to Auburn is a relatively new phenomenon, it isn’t going anywhere soon. According to Rivals.com, Auburn has two of the top three JUCO recruits in the nation with defensive end Dre Butler and cornerback Marco Domio.
