A three-star JUCO prospect and the third-best JUCO running back in the country according to the 247Sports composite rankings, Artis-Payne is one of the most underrated running backs in Auburn history.

Artis-Payne spent his first year with the Tigers being the backup for star RB Tre Mason but after Mason went pro in 2013, Artis-Payne took control of the Auburn backfield and ran with it (literally).

After tallying 610 rushing yards and six touchdowns as a junior, CAP exploded in his senior season for the Tigers.

The 5-foot-11, 210-pound back carried the ball 303 times for an SEC-leading 1,608 rushing yards (5.3 YPC) and 13 touchdowns while also adding 13 catches for 147 yards.

Artis-Payne was named to the All-SEC First-Team for his efforts and would be drafted in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers where he spent four seasons primarily as a backup.

The former JUCO product’s 1,608 rushing yards stands in third place on Auburn’s all-time single-season rushing list behind Bo Jackson and Tre Mason.
