Auburn football: Ranking every five-star recruit in program history
A big, 6-foot-4, 309-pound defensive tackle out of Vienna, Georgia, Montravius Adams was heavily recruited and held scholarship offers from basically every major program in the country.
Ultimately, Adams chose Auburn over Clemson and Georgia and as the 10th overall recruit in the class of 2014, Adams was expected to make an immediate impact. And he did.
After a strong freshman campaign, Adams would be the Tigers regular starter at nose tackle for the next three seasons. By the end of his senior season, Adams was a First Team All-SEC selection and received Second Team All-American honors.
In his four years, the Georgia native racked up 147 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
Adams would go on to be selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Tiger has had to deal with injuries as a pro and is primarily used as a backup nose tackle for the team.
Regardless, Adams is a great example of a hyped-up prospect that came in, contributed immediately and got better every year on his way to the NFL.
