Auburn football: Ranking every five-star recruit in program history
As one of two five-star recruits that the Tigers signed in 2010, Louisana-native Trovon Reed came to Auburn as one of the best athletes in the country.
The 6-foot, 185-pound recruit was a top-25 recruit in the nation and the third-best athlete in the country. At first, Reed played wide receiver at Auburn where he played his first three seasons.
However, Reed never took his game to the next level as a receiver as he only recorded 39 catches for 384 yards and one TD in three seasons.
Still determined to make an impact, Reed switched positions to defensive back in 2014. In his one and only season at defensive back, Reed started nine games at cornerback for the Tigers.
In those nine games, Reed notched 12 tackles but showed strong ball skills with three interceptions and four passes defended.
Reed went undrafted in 2015 but impressed enough to be signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an UDFA. Reed has had a journeyman NFL career playing for eight different teams in four seasons.
The former five-star would then have stints with the Birmingham Iron of the AAFL and the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL.
