The most recent recruit on this list, Boobee Whitlow could’ve been much higher on this list had he not decided to transfer this offseason.

Regardless, Whitlow enjoyed two really solid seasons (three if you count his redshirt year) and although he was unable to continue Auburn’s historic streak of 1,000-yard rushers, the former three-star recruit played well as the Tigers’ starting running back.

In high school, Whitlow wasn’t seen as an elite prospect. The undersized athlete wasn’t even a top 500 player in the country as he was ranked as the nation’s No. 527 overall recruit and the No. 26 prospect in the state of Alabama.

Whitlow almost never ended up at Auburn either as he was verbally committed to Tulane prior to National Signing Day when the Tigers came in and swooped him up.

Auburn was the only Power 5 school to offer Whitlow and with the Tigers already having former top prospect Kerryon Johnson on the roster as well as several other touted running backs on the roster, Whitlow’s chances of early playing time seemed slim.

However, after Johnson left early for the NFL, Whitlow surprised many and took the starting RB job and ran with it. Over the past two seasons, the former three-star recruit has totaled 1,829 yards from scrimmage and 18 total touchdowns.
