Auburn football: Potent rushing attack and strong O-line should make Kentucky a tough out
The Wildcats have some really solid talent at linebacker for next season led by RS senior Jamar “Boogie” Watson. The 6-foot-3, 242-pound linebacker is a pass-rush star and led the team with 11.5 tackles for loss and also recorded 36 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He is on Athlon Sports’ preseason All-SEC second team and should have a strong 2020.
The team did lose two-time team captain Kash Daniel to graduation but alongside Watson, the team has a solid duo of DeAndre Square and Chris Oats.
Square was second on the team last season with 69 total tackles in his first year as the full-time starter and Oats racked up 46 tackles and 2.5 TFLs and should see those numbers increase with Daniel now gone.
The Wildcats also have junior ILB Jamin Davis who recorded 32 tackles despite only starting in one of the 13 games he appeared in last season.
Watson should be the leader of the Kentucky pass rush next season but the team also has rising talent across the board. Auburn should have an inexperienced offensive line in 2020 and they’ll need to grow up fast if they want to protect quarterback Bo Nix and create holes for the running game.
