Other than the three aforementioned players in Alabama’s 2020 recruiting class, the most recent player to flip from Auburn to Bama was Joshua Casher in 2014.

The No. 2 center in his recruiting class, the Mobile, Alabama product was highly sought after by both Auburn and Alabama as well as several other top college football programs.

It seemed like Auburn had won the battle for Casher when he committed in March of 2013. However, Casher would take an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa in September and a month later, Casher was obviously having second thoughts and decommited from Auburn.

An unofficial visit to Auburn in October that year wasn’t enough to convince Casher to recommit and three days later, he announced his commitment to Alabama.

Like Liner, Casher didn’t exactly live up to expectations in Tuscaloosa, but unlike Liner, Casher decided to stay at Bama for his entire collegiate career.

After taking a redshirt year as a freshman, Casher was mainly used as a rotational piece on the Crimson Tide offensive line, playing in six or fewer games for his first three seasons.

Casher would appear in eight games as a RS senior in 2018 but was mainly used on extra points and field goals.

Casher played both center and guard during his time at Alabama but never became a full-time starter. Whether or not the former Under Armour All-American would’ve made more of an impact at Auburn is definitely something to ponder.
