Auburn football: The best player from each team on the Tigers’ 2020 schedule
No one got closer to beating LSU during their undefeated 2019 season than Auburn did. Despite a disappointing 23-20 loss in Death Valley, Auburn does get to face off against LSU at home this year and that should be an advantage.
Luckily for Auburn, LSU will be without superstar quarterback Joe Burrow but make no mistake, the Bayou Bengals are still loaded with talent. But in reality, there is only one true option for this slide.
Ja’Marr Chase was arguably the best wide receiver in all of college football last season and he was only a sophomore. The 6-foot-1 wideout led the country in both receiving yards (1,780) and receiving touchdowns (20.)
Granted, he had the benefit of Burrow throwing him the ball and with a new quarterback next season, it’s unlikely that Chase will be able to replicate the gaudy numbers from last season.
However, at the same time, he no longer has to compete with Justin Jefferson, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Thaddeus Moss for receptions.
Chase should be a big contender for a second-straight Biletnikoff Award and for good reason.
