If you had to guess who led the SEC in rushing yards per game last season, who would you guess? Clyde Edwards-Helaire? D’Andre Swift? No, the answer is Ole Miss quarterback John Rhys Plumlee.
He may not be the most polished passer in the country (52.7 completion percentage with four touchdowns and three interceptions) but he is absolutely one of the more electric dual-threat QBs in the country.
Despite only playing in nine games with eight starts last season, Plumlee led the SEC with 113.67 rushing yards per game and ranked fourth in the country among quarterbacks with 1,023 rushing yards.
While it’s not even a guarantee that Plumlee gets the start over RS sophomore Matt Corral, Plumlee had 12 rushing TDs in only nine games and has quite the high ceiling.
