Seth Williams has already established himself as a bonafide star and will undoubtedly be the top target for QB Bo Nix. Anthony Schwartz is probably the fastest player in college football so it makes sense that people are excited to see what he can do.

But, who will emerge as the third WR in Auburn’s offense? Well, the obvious answer is Eli Stove. The speedy wideout from Florida has made an impact since his freshman season in 2016. However, what has held Stove back has not been his talent but rather, his health.

A torn ACL in the spring of 2018 forced him to miss nearly his entire junior season. Last season was Stove’s chance to bounce back from the injury and he put together a career-high 37 catches for 321 yards and three TDs while also adding an additional touchdown on the ground.

Stove has similar versatility to Schwartz in the way that he can use his speed to be a deep-threat, break out in the open field or be used as a rusher on specially-designed plays. With slot receiver Will Hastings graduating from last year’s team and receivers Zach Farrar, Marquis McClain and Jashawn Sheffield all transferring, I expect Stove to put together another career year.

It’s another year removed from his injury and Nix will need a veteran and experienced wideout to throw to. I’m not expecting an All-SEC year from Stove (although I genuinely believe he has that kind of talent) but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him challenge Schwartz as the Tigers’ No. 2 option in the passing game and be one of Auburn’s most versatile offensive weapons.
