Jordyn Peters came to Auburn as the No. 726 player in the class of 2017 so it’s not like the three-star recruit was going to get much attention. But Peters proved a lot of doubters wrong and got on the field right away as a true freshman.

Playing at safety and the nickel spot, Peters never really got significant snaps but in the snaps he did get, he was effective and was a special teams ace for the Tigers. As a sophomore, Peters blocked three punts on the year which ranked second in the entire country but he has had to play behind some very talented Auburn DBs over the years.

Things took a turn for the worse when the 6-foot-1, 195-pound safety suffered a foot injury in spring practice prior to last season. He came back from the injury and still managed to play seven games recording 11 total tackles and one tackle for a loss.

But similar to Stove, I think people are forgetting just how good Peters can be. Now entering his senior season, Peters has the perfect opportunity to be a mainstay on the Auburn defense.

Despite the fact that Auburn has lost Daniel Thomas, Javaris Davis, Noah Igbinoghene and Jeremiah Dinson from last year’s secondary, people simply aren’t talking about Peters enough.

The talk is constantly around players like Smoke Monday, Christian Tutt, Jamien Sherwood and Roger McCreary and I’m not saying that Peters is better than any of them but it seems to me that he’s definitely going under the radar.

He’s a veteran DB that is now entering his fourth year in the system and he plays hard and with a chip on his shoulder. Peters could definitely be one of Auburn’s best defensive backs next year and definitely deserves a bit more hype.
