Cam Newton – New England Patriots – 78 overall (-6)

This is probably the most controversial entry on this list as Newton has proven throughout his career that he is much better than a 78 overall. We are not too far removed from his 2015 MVP season but on the other hand, Newton only played in two games last season and is on a one-year, $1.05 million “prove it” deal with the New England Patriots.

His rating is down six points from the launch of Madden 20 but don’t be surprised to see it shoot back up this season if Newton is healthy.

Jarrett Stidham – New England Patriots – 61 overall (+3)

Yes, Auburn has two quarterbacks in Madden 21 and they’re both on the same team.

Considering Stidham was likely going to be Tom Brady’s successor before the team signed Newton in June but 61 sure is low.

Sure, his rating is up three points from his rookie season and the former fourth-round pick has essentially no in-game experience but still, 61 seems harsh.
