Redshirt senior Jarrett Guarantano will likely be entering his fourth season as the Vols starter under center in 2020. Last season, the 6-foot-4, 213-pound signal-caller completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 2,158 yards, 16 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

While Guarantano did put up a career-high in TDs last season, consistency is the big question mark for the veteran QB. At times, Guarantano looks lost but other times, he looks the part as an elite SEC quarterback.

He’s not much of a threat on the ground but Guarantano did put up 415 yards and two TDs against Mizzou last year and another year of experience is a good thing more often than not.

Behind Guarantano, Tennessee will have sophomores  Brian Maurer and J.T. Shrout as well as highly-touted freshman Harrison Bailey but all three should be sitting on the bench for much of the season unless Guarantano regresses or an injury occurs.

The Vols also had an intriguing option under center with Maryland transfer Kasim Hill but the former four-star prospect announced this August that he would once again be transferring.
