The offensive line should be the strength of the Volunteer offense in 2020. For starters, the team returns star left guard Trey Smith. Smith stands at 6’6″ and 335 pounds and elected to return for his senior season after earning first-team All-SEC honors in 2019.

Smith is a popular preseason All-American pick for 2020 but he’s not the only talent Tennessee has on the O-line.

At the other guard spot, the Vols will have Knoxville native and former five-star recruit Cade Mays (if he eligible immediately) who transferred to Tennessee from UGA where he earned Freshman All-American honors in 2018.

At tackle, the Vols have an All-SEC talent in Wanya Morris (Freshman All-American last season) and either Darnell Wright or K’Rojhn Calbert

The bow on top of it all is the return of veteran center and former Alabama transfer Brandon Kennedy. Kennedy started every game for the Vols last season and received a sixth-year of eligibility after an injury forced him to miss all but one game during the 2018 campaign.

Overall, the Vols O-line unit looks pretty stacked and with Auburn having to replace much of its D-line talent from last season, the Tigers could struggle to get a pass rush.
