Najee Harris is a nightmarish matchup

Najee Harris is having an exceptional season for the Crimson Tide. In fact, no running back has ever been as dominant as Harris, at least in relation to pounding the ball in the endzone–Harris’ 16 touchdowns are the most ever for an Alabama running back.

Remember, not even the likes of Derrick Henry or Trent Richardson (who was at one point a can’t-miss prospect) were able to do the things Harris is doing this year.

Against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, Harris scored two touchdowns and ran for 83 yards. He broke out for a 42-yard run against one of the SEC’s residential punching bags (in football at least) Kentucky, and rushed for 119 yards the week before against Mississippi State.

Of course, it was his five-touchdown day against the Ole Miss Rebels on October 10th in the second game of the season that should give Auburn football fans some trepidation ahead of Saturday’s tilt in Tuscaloosa.

Auburn’s rushing defense has been its weak point this season. Opposing defenses have been able to put up 165 rushing yards per game against the Tigers. Those are two sentences that are troubling at best and horrifying at worst following the season Harris has had.
