Former Auburn football stat Travaris Robinson is being considered for the cornerback coach role in Bryan Harsin’s staff.

News is moving so fast about Auburn football’s potential coaching hires that Fly War Eagle’s head is spinning like a basketball on the fingertip of a Harlem Globetrotter.

Bryan Harsin made two landmark hires in his early coaching tenure, bringing on former Vanderbilt head coach Derek Mason as the defensive coordinator and former South Carolina offensive coordinator Mike Bobo to serve the same role.

That followed the hires of former Boise State Broncos coaches Jeff Pitman, Spencer Danielson, and Jeff Schmedding to bring continuity to the staff.

There’s a few vacancies left, and the defensive backs coach is up for grabs.

Could former Auburn football star Travaris Robinson be an option? Apparently, he already is:

While Robinson is a candidate for the Auburn DB role, the University of Florida is also looking at the former Gamecocks defensive coordinator under Will Muschamp, according to Gatorsports’ Zach Abolverdi:

"Robinson, a former UF assistant, is considered the leading candidate to join Mullen’s staff. He served as Florida’s defensive backs coach from 2011-14 under Will Muschamp. During that time, Robinson recruited a total of nine defensive backs who are still playing in the NFL. After a one-year stint at Auburn, his alma mater, Muschamp hired Robinson as his defensive coordinator at South Carolina, where he spent the last five seasons. New Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer did not retain Robinson last month."

The Gators aren’t even the only team from the Sunshine State to register interest either:

It’ll be interesting to see if Bryan Harsin could nab such a hot commodity in the coaching market. That would certainly register as a major win to beat out an SEC powerhouse like Florida and a perennial ACC title threat in the University of Miami for the former Tiger.
