Just this morning, the Auburn football program announced that Darren Uscher of Boise State will be the new director of recruiting and player personnel.

HC Bryan Harsin has spoken very highly of his latest hire and emphasized Uscher’s ability to manage the non-stop process of recruiting for the Auburn football program.

Per Kieth Niebuhr, Uscher has actually been at work on the Plains for three weeks already, and has been speaking with recruits.

Uscher spent the last seven years at Boise State with Harsin, five in which he was in the same post he will be taking on at Auburn. Prior to Boise State, he worked at Georgetown as the director of operations, assistant recruiting coordinator and video coordinator.

And–ironically enough–Darren Uscher earned a degree from the University of South Carolina, where he also began his career as marketing assistant.

Another Gamecock turned Tiger? We’re here for it.

Darren Uscher has spent the last seven years steadily building up the Boise State program, recruiting hard to have an edge over their Mountain West Conference peers in 2019. 247Sports ranked the Broncos’ recruiting class as No. 1 in their conference and No. 63 in the nation.

After the staggering recruiting budget numbers came out this past week, it’s clear Auburn football needs to step up their recruiting process, and Darren Uscher could be the key. Harsin touts Uscher’s ability to build relationships with prospective recruits and their families, and staying two steps ahead of the game.

As for us at Fly War Eagle, we’re impressed with the staff Bryan Harsin is building for his inaugural season and look forward to seeing the Auburn football program reflect these changes.
