Trey Alexander, a four-star recruit out of Oklahoma, officially signed with the Auburn basketball team and will join Bruce Pearl’s squad in Auburn Arena next season.

The 6’4″ shooting guard from Heritage Hall High School chose Auburn basketball over Arkansas and Kansas, and is currently ranked at 61 in his class according to AU Hoops News.

Alexander becomes the second of Bruce Pearl’s 2021 signees, in addition to Jabari Smith, a five-star PF. When Alexander signed his letter of intent back in November, Coach Pearl praised his scoring ability and his work ethic.

With a scoring guard and big man added to the team, that should complete Bruce Pearl’s recruiting for 2021, and he will now likely be focusing on recruitment of the 2022 class.

AU Hoops News compared Trey Alexander to former tiger Samir Doughty in terms of a long term role back in November when Alexander originally committed, and expect him to make an impact right away coming off the bench for the Tigers.

Alexander’s ball handling is polished for a young prospect, according to Rivals.com, and he could potentially dabble in the role PG1 if Sharife Cooper were to head to the NBA next season.

Then again, it would be pretty incredible to see Sharife on the floor with these guys. One more year!

The Auburn Tigers’ next basketball game will be on Saturday against the Baylor Bears, and after beating South Carolina in historic fashion then taking down ranked Missouri, we could be in for a great game.
