The Reese’s Senior Bowl will kick off on January 30 in Mobile, AL, and Auburn football will be represented solely by NFL-bound Tiger KJ Britt.
The elite seniors playing in Saturday’s game have been broken down into two teams–American, coached by the Carolina Panthers staff, and National, coached by the Miami Dolphins staff.
KJ Britt was named to the American team, and according to Pro Football Network he was able to show strong potential and athletic skill. The American group of Linebackers is a strong one, featuring several other SEC seniors.
Player of the week honors were announced by the Senior Bowl’s executive director Jim Nagy via Twitter. One senior from each position on each team has the opportunity to be named player of the week, decided upon by votes from the position group they faced off against in practice.
Auburn football’s KJ Britt earned the honors of top linebacker for the American team.
The SEC cleaned up in the awards category in the Senior Bowl, taking four of the five offensive awards and two of the four defensive awards.
After three days of practice, Britt was praised for his pass coverage against smaller players and his ability downhill. Although still being criticized for some facets of his performance this week, the soon-to-be professional former Auburn football star is still making strides.
The Reese’s Senior Bowl will be broadcast from Hancock Whitney Stadium on the NFL Network on Saturday at 1:30pm.
