Fans of all kind took to Twitter to share their thoughts on today’s big announcement: EA Sports College Football is coming back. FWE has rounded up some of those tweets–the ones pertaining to Auburn, of course–and we’re excited to share.
To kick things off, let’s have some fun thinking about Auburn football and national championships:
Not to get ahead of ourselves, but the last time EA Sports released an NCAA Football game, Auburn won the SEC Championship and went to the national title game with a first-year head coach.

Finally, I can see an Auburn championship again.

The news of @EASPORTS bringing back #EACollegeFootball had us thinking of what an Auburn cover would look like...

Next up, a couple of general Auburn-related comments, possibly poking fun at EA Sports:
Storming the field after a big win might be a fun visual. Though I would settle for them actually getting Auburn's fight song correct 🤷♂️😂

@EASPORTS waited for Gus to be gone for the new college game #wareagle #auburn

And maybe the funniest comments of all are the ones referencing recent college football scandals, and creating hypothetical scenarios for the new EA Sports College Football game team:
School specific cheats. Georgia SUVs, Bama Dodge sports cars, Auburn church offerings, and Tennessee McDonald's bags.

“It ain’t in the game anymore”. If you choose to play as Auburn or Tennessee do you have to pay a coaches buyout before it lets you kick off?

Lastly, we’ve even got Auburn athletes, former and current, weighing in on the announcement of the new game:
Right when I leave huh🙂 https://t.co/9anNQHLJz8

college basketball game ???? 👀

Could Sharife Cooper convince EA Sports to release EA Sports College Basketball? Too soon to tell, but we know there’s a few people out there who may enjoy playing around with a virtual Auburn basketball team. For now, we’ll settle for football.
