Auburn football is on the hunt for running backs to join the class of 2022 roster. With Tank Bigsby and Shaun Shivers on the team heading into fall, the Tigers are looking good for 2021 but sooner rather than later there will be running back cleats to fill.

Four-star running back Nicholas Singleton from Reading, PA took to Twitter to announce his top nine on March 9, stacking Auburn against Texas A&M, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Alabama.

Per 247 Sports, Singleton is the No. 2 recruit out of the state of Pennsylvania, the #5 running back, and #98 nationally.

Singleton totaled 170 carries for 1,311 yards and 22 touchdowns on the 2020 season. The Governor Mifflin High School running back was named to the 2020 Pennsylvania High School Football All-State first-team offense and was All-EPA Class 5A Co-Player of the year. Governor Mifflin High finished the season 8-1 and went to the 5A state semifinals.

247 Sports National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn notes that Singleton is a highly productive player that does not waste movement:

"Good frame with ability to play at 210 pounds. Highly productive player with 32 touchdowns and 9.4 yards per carry as sophomore. Has burst to get through hole and speed to finish runs. Gets the edge with ease at high school level. Runs away from secondary. Shows vision and cut-back ability when running between tackles. Sticks foot in ground and decisive as one-cut runner. Does not waste movement. Not challenged to be a physical runner very often. Has to show ability to move laterally and be elusive in tight spaces. Improvement as pass catcher would accentuate game. Multi-year starter at Top 10 program. Day 3 NFL draft potential."

Though he’s predicted to stay in his home state and commit to Penn State, the running back would be a major asset to the Auburn football program. No final decision date has been announced, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed Singleton decides to become a Tiger.
