Auburn football will be hosting fans for the first time in many years this coming Saturday, and as many people as can possibly be allowed safely are expected to pack Jordan-Hare Stadium for the first public exhibition of Bryan Harsin’s Tigers:

Fans will be allowed to see what the new schemes will be on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, and a few notable names will be in attendance for the team’s workouts.

Local Auburn High School product Powell Gordon will be in attendance, making the short drive down Samford Ave from his current school to see his future Tigers teammates at Jordan-Hare. The 3-star OLB commit has been excited about the opportunity to play for the hometown team, and he will now get to see what kind of drills he can expect when he joins the team in the summer of 2022.

Another key attendee will be someone Auburn football has yet to seal the commitment of. OL Eston Harris Jr., a local product from Beauregard, will also make his way to Saturday’s practice.

Harris has standing offers from SEC West rival Arkansas, as well as the Pac-12’s Arizona State and Florida State and Duke from the ACC. Will Friend has been in contact with the six-foot-five, 275-pound OT as his primary recruiter.

The offensive line has long been a position of relative weakness for the Tigers…so much so that when Patrick Mahomes was constantly scrambling because of an effective Tampa Bay Buccaneers pass rush, all Auburn football fans could think of was Bo Nix running for his life in a strikingly similar manner.

One can only hope that Harris is impressed enough with what he sees that he decides to stay home for his college career.
