Wednesday provided yet another bit of #MarchSadness to Auburn basketball fans, as junior guard Jamal Johnson has officially transferred.

The Tigers already lost Justin Powell but found out recently that both Sharife Cooper and JT Thor would be trying their hand at hearing their name called during the 2021 NBA Draft.

Johnson’s departure follows the Tigers’ signing of Zep Jasper of the College of Charleston, who signed his letter of intent to make his way to the Plains later this year. The NCAA has waived the probation year for all transfers.

That allowed Johnson to quickly sign with the UAB Blazers, as he announced on his Twitter account:

Unlike Powell’s departure, Johnson’s exit from the Plains didn’t upset Tiger fans in the slightest. In fact, it was quite the opposite.

Auburn basketball fans showed Johnson nothing but love on his way out:

Johnson averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists on a 36/36/73 shooting slash with one turnover per game in his third season with the Auburn basketball program.

Fly War Eagle wishes him well in his time with the Blazers in the Conference-USA!
