Former Auburn football wide receiver and current New York Giant Darius Slayton evidently enjoys the Brandon Marshall memes as much as anyone.

Following a bizarre rant on his “I Am Athlete” show, the image of Marshall screaming with eyes wide open and veins protruding from his head is one of the trendiest sights on the internet.

What caused Marshall to passionately roar was his incorrect belief that most NBA players didn’t receive guaranteed contracts. Perhaps blind in his defense of the NFL’s system, Marshall has drawn plenty of attention for his rant.

Jared Dudley of the Los Angeles Lakers was among those who shut the idea down:

A couple of sports journalists similarly shut this line of thinking down:

Marshall left himself vulnerable to a few ribbings, but NFL WR Darius Slayton was lighthearted in his use of the now-viral Twitter meme:

That’s right, world, Auburn is the Tigers…not the War Eagles!

The springy and athletic Aubie galivanting around Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn Arena, Plainsman Park, and the rest of the University campus.

It is admittedly confusing being one of three teams called the Tigers in the SEC alone. That said, the former Auburn football star Slayton just wants to make sure you put some respect on the Plains’ name.
