Maybe there is a bit of a Tiger bias present, but former Auburn football QB Sean White has extremely high hopes for one of the wide receivers eligible in this year’s NFL Draft, Seth Williams. After spending three years on the Plains, the WR announced he would forgo his senior season and instead try to level up to the pros.

In his 33 games played for the Tigers, Williams caught 132 passes for 2,124 yards and 17 touchdowns and also led the team in receiving his final two years. According to AL.com, Williams believes he has a lot more to prove to NFL teams due to simplified route variations limiting his abilities in former head coach Gus Malzahn’s offense:

"“I can’t explain to you how diverse my route tree is, but I will say when I get to the next level you will be able to see,” Williams said. “My difference on all of the other receivers is that I am a playmaker — I am able to go up and get it. The ball in the air is mine. I feel like I can run every route in the route tree.”"

Draft Kings reports that Williams’ athleticism paired with his height and long arms make him a red-zone threat, proven by his multitude of 50/50 catches in his time at Auburn. Though Williams is criticized for his inability to create separation and his predictable routes, it’s quite possible that the receiver just hasn’t had the opportunity to run a more diverse route.

Former Auburn football quarterback Sean White definitely thinks big things are coming from Seth Williams, who has been predicted to go in the third, fourth, and fifth rounds in the time leading up to the draft.

For now, we’ll have to wait until draft night to see where the former Auburn receiver will be continuing his career in the NFL.
