The Auburn football program is just one day away from the annual spring game, and a lot has been changing for the team behind the scenes. Head coach Bryan Harsin has transformed the style of play and the culture surrounding the team, and Saturday marks the first chance to see the team in action outside of practice.

Heading into A-Day, fans are expecting to see something completely different from the Gus Malzahn era, and players are stepping up in different ways whether it’s working hard under Harsin’s new administration or switching positions to benefit the team as a whole.

Here are three players Fly War Eagle thinks you should look out for at Saturday’s game.

Auburn football player to watch on offense: Kobe Hudson

Hudson, a true freshman in the 2020 season, caught seven passes for 70 yards including a 20-yard reception at Alabama in the Iron Bowl. According to Jordan Hill, via Twitter, Coach Harsin has been impressed with Hudson as he’s improved and gotten more comfortable with the offense. Wide receivers coach Cornelius Williams calls Hudson a leader:

Hudson should be leading the WR corps heading into the 2021 season, and it should be exciting to see his skill and growth on display at Jordan-Hare tomorrow.

Auburn football player to watch on defense: J.J. Pegues

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, Auburn football’s former 300-pound tight end will now be playing on the defensive line, and we will see him in action for the first time on the defensive side of the ball come Saturday. Auburn defensive end Colby Wooden described Pegues as “explosive” despite being new to the position:

The Tigers should be interesting to watch overall because there should be major differences in the style of play from what fans are used to seeing.
