Auburn football coach Bryan Harsin’s 2021 Tigers made their official debut in front of 25,210 fans in Jordan-Hare Stadium for A-Day. The spring scrimmage saw a strong Auburn defense and a solid performance from returning running backs Shaun Shivers and Tank Bigsby.
Spring practices will end on Monday, and the next time we’ll see the Tigers in action is September 4, when the team will host the Akron Zips on the Plains. In the meantime, we can only expect the Harsinal to turn their attention to recruiting process.
The following are three recruits that were in attendance at Saturday’s scrimmage, checking out the new era of Auburn football.
1. Powell Gordon
Class of 2022 Auburn commit Powell Gordon didn’t have to travel very far to make it to Saturday’s game seeing as it took place in his hometown. Gordon, a 3-star outside linebacker from Auburn High School, told Cole Pinkston of the JBoyShow he would be taking no more official visits, only to Auburn. Sounds like he’s locked in on the orange and blue.
2. Quinshon Judkins
Another class of 2022 recruit from close by, Quinshon Judkins made the trip to the Plains from Pike Road, Alabama to visit his potential future college. The running back has 26 offers according to 247 Sports but seems to be primarily interested in Penn State or Florida outside of Auburn. Judkins dropped a pin on Twitter to let everyone know where he spent his Saturday:
3. Emory Floyd
Major Auburn defensive back target Emory Floyd got in on the action as well ahead of the announcement of his top eight schools, which will take place on April 19. The 3-star safety is being recruited hard by Georgia, but currently seems to favor the Tigers. Floyd shared a video from inside the stadium and even tagged Auburn’s class of 2022 QB commit Holden Geriner:
If anything, we can hope that being inside Jordan-Hare on A-Day with the biggest crowd since before COVID-19 helped the prospects realize that the Plains is the place to be.
