Auburn football fans are a prideful bunch, even after a down-year on the Plains in 2020.

COVID-19 forced several notable Tigers out of the lineup and Bo Nix was mired in a sophomore slump in what would be the final season of Gus Malzahn’s supposedly NFL readiness-repellent offense.

That said, despite the 6-5 record, Auburn still took care of business outside of the very best of the conference (Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M) and had its worst off-day in years losing to the now-fired Will Muschamp’s South Carolina Gamecocks before losing to the Big Ten runner-up Northwestern Wildcats.

So, Auburn football fans, what do you think of the #9 ranking from “SEC Mike” aka Michael Bratton in his post-spring edition SEC Power Rankings?

Angry? Well, you’re not alone:

As #InHarsinWeTrust (damn sure we do) pointed out, Auburn football is below Ole Miss, Kentucky, and Arkansas, who were all beaten by AU in 2020. Auburn also won the Tiger bowl with LSU by several touchdowns, but Ed Orgeron at least had a great class of 2021 recruiting class.

There’s no reason whatsoever the Tigers should be a fringe top-10 team in anyone’s SEC power-rankings. There’s also no reason Georgia should be ranked #1, but that’s not our fight to fight at this point here at Fly War Eagle.

Either way, disrespect was felt, and a little bit of it may have been dished back, fairly or not. As SEC Mike learned the hard way, the Auburn family is a united front against any and all doubters.
