If there’s one thing that Auburn football fans can believe in going into the 2021 season it’s the running back corps. Stacked with Shaun Shivers and Tank Bigsby, the Tigers’ run game is intimidating.

PFF agreed, placing Tank Bigsby in a poll with Breece Hall, Isaiah Spiller, and Bijan Robinson to find out who will be the best running back of the 2021 season. While Robinson is a rising sophomore like Bigsby, both Hall and Spiller will be upperclassmen come fall.

Bigsby was SEC Freshman of the Year in 2020 and was first team freshman all-SEC at runningback. He finished the season with 834 total yards and five touchdowns, as well as 11 receptions for 81 yards.

Bijan Robinson finished his freshman season at Texas with 703 yards and four touchdowns with 15 receptions for 196 yards. Breece Hall recorded 1,572 yards and 21 touchdowns in his 2020 season at Iowa State, while Isaiah Spiller scored 9 touchdowns and rushed for 703 yards.

Auburn football fans showed up in the replies to make it very clear who they think will be the best running back of the 2021 season, providing much evidence that the crown will belong to Bigsby:

Though there was much discussion about the four aforementioned players in the replies, many fans were of the opinion that PFF skipped out on Kevin Harris, who led the SEC in rushing yards per game at 113.8 in 2020.

At Fly War Eagle, we think it’s safe to go with Tank.
