Auburn football has been signing some very enthusiastic recruits over the past several seasons because Fly War Eagle always tends to be reporting on current and future Tigers publicly recruiting unsigned recruits themselves.
Auburn’s top 2022 commit and 4-star QB Holden Geriner ought to be on payroll given all of the social media outreach he has put out in the Twitterverse. Geriner has already reached out to Emory Floyd and Shemar James to join him in Bryan Harsin’s first full recruiting class on the Plains for 2022.
Then, last night, Shaun Shivers did the same. Shivers, unlike Geriner, is already on the team, and last night he reached out to a player who is currently in the transfer portal and could make his way to Auburn to directly make Shivers’ job easier.
Fly War Eagle co-editor Mary Kate Hughes noted Shivers’ interest in Notre Dame OG Dillan Gibbons:
"(Gibbons) enters the portal in a time of rebuilding for the Auburn football team, where players are either getting used to the culture change under the new regime or leaving the Plains. A major contributor on the Auburn offense, Shaun Shivers thinks that Bryan Harsin and the coaching staff should go after Dillan Gibbons."
Shivers, the junior rusher out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is at it again.
Early this morning, the five-foot-seven bulldozer tweeted at UAB transfer Tony Fair as well:
Fair is the #6 DT in the nation–as he proudly boasts on his Twitter bio–and has already received an offer from Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. Initially, Fair had interest from Indiana and Nebraska, and even committed from Nebraska before his eventual UAB commitment. The Blazers were the very first team to offer him back in 2018.
Now, he is clearly a hot commodity in the SEC, and one of Auburn football’s top weapons wants him to join Colby Wooden, Tyrone Truesdell, Jeremiah Wright, and Zykeivous Walker in the Tigers DT room.
