Much of this spring Saturday on the Plains was spent by Auburn football fans seeing Kerryon Johnson pump up Jordan-Hare Stadium as the loudest stadium in college football.

As Fly War Eagle coeditor Mary Kate Hughes pointed out earlier today, despite being three years removed from the program and joining a new professional franchise not named the Detroit Lions, Johnson still has Auburn on his mind.

Well, the saga took another step, as former Alabama Crimson Tide LB Reggie Ragland added his two cents, proclaiming the beauty of the Yellowhammer’s state’s other mega-stadium, Bryant-Denny Stadium, as the best in college football.

It all started by Ragland simply telling Johnson to stop claiming JHS’ stadium superiority:

According to Ragland, the idea that the best stadium in the sport isn’t in Tuscaloosa is nothing more than “cap” (a family friendly way to exclude the “r” as the word’s second letter.

When the current NY Giants LB responded that BDS was the actual best stadium, Johnson dismissed the idea, claiming the only saving grace of the otherwise spirit-lacking venue is the “Dixieland Delight” tradition ‘Bama fans have during home games:

Clearly, LSU’s Death Valley has a horse in the race with Tiger Stadium. If an Auburn football veteran can bring them up in an argument about the best stadium with a Tide guy, there is credence to the idea that the SEC West’s other Tigers have a legitimate argument.

You know who doesn’t? Mississippi State (according to Johnson):

Sorry Hail State, that was a failed statement.

Wherever you stand on this issue, let’s just be glad we’ll be able to effectively judge the best stadiums this coming fall as stadiums begin to return to full capacity.
