Auburn football: K.J. Britt already earning praise from TB HC Bruce Arians
2021 has been a pretty remarkable year for former Auburn football defensive star K.J. Britt.
After opting out of the final two games of the 2020 Tigers season–one that was going nowhere fast after the team lost to South Carolina and was beaten soundly by Georgia, Alabama, and Texas A&M–Britt decided to focus his attention on the Senior Bowl and his 2021 NFL Draft goals.
Well, that decision to skip the Kevin Steele-coached Citrus Bowl loss to Big Ten powerhouse Northwestern was a good one, seeing as how Britt has joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the defending Super Bowl LV Champions and a strong frontrunner in 2021-22 to repeat given their retention of every single offensive starter.
It appears that Britt is in good hands with HC Bruce Arians too since the SB coach was glowing about his new defensive stalwart:
Britt had glowing words himself about Tampa Bay’s QB and 6x SB winner Tom Brady back in February:
With all the love down in the Big Guava being given to Britt, you have to think that he is in the right place to succeed in 2021 and beyond. Britt and fellow rookie Grant Stuard out of the University of Houston have already earned plenty of confidence from their head coach:
"“Those two guys are running the whole show already. It’s been really, really impressive.”"
This upcoming season will be a fun one in Tampa, and Auburn football fans will get to see Britt reunite with former teammates Jamel Dean and Carlton Davis on the defending champions, who just so happen to have the G.O.A.T. NFL QB.
