The upcoming month of the recruiting process will be unlike any other in the history of Auburn football, primarily because this is the first time this group of coaches will be hosting recruits to the Plains. Finally, after the ending of the NCAA recruiting dead period, the Tigers will once again have access to their best recruiting weapon–Auburn itself.

June 1 will mark the first attempt of Bryan Harsin to wade into the waters of SEC recruiting, in person at least, and will set the tone for recruitment under his regime. Historically, in-person recruiting has been an advantage for the Tigers as the Auburn atmosphere sells itself.

Not that Bryan Harsin has been doing a bad job so far–247 Sports reports that when he took over from former coach Gus Malzahn, the Auburn recruiting class was ranked in the upper forties, but as of now, the Tigers have clawed their way into a top 20 class.

There are already 40 recruits scheduled to visit Auburn’s campus–official or unofficial–throughout the month of June, and the number continues to grow. After dealing with fifteen months of virtual recruitment, prospects will step foot on the Plains this Tuesday, and the Auburn football coaches are excited.

Special Teams Coordinator and Outside Linebackers coach Bert Watts, Defensive Run Coordinator and Inside Linebackers coach Jeff Schmedding, and defensive coordinator Derek Mason all got in on the action, sending messages to the Auburn family and to recruits.

As Coach Schmedding said, the best is yet to come for Auburn football.
