Caden Story is a top Auburn football defensive line target for the 2022 recruiting cycle and he found his way to the Plains for the second time this month. He visited the Plains back on June 3rd and was on the Plains again this past weekend with his cousin Micah Pollard, who is a 3-star linebacker in the 2022 class.
Story is a 4-star defensive lineman out of Lanett, AL, and ranks as the #221 overall recruit in the 2022 class, while he is the #11 player out of the state of Alabama. Last season, Story dominated the season with 66 total tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 18 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles in his junior season at Lanett High School.
His brother Kristian Story is currently a safety at Alabama, but it looks like an Auburn, UCF, and Indiana battle for the younger brother. Story has already taken his official visit to UCF and has already said that Auburn will receive an official visit. Texas A&M will receive an official visit this weekend and Kentucky and Indiana could also get Story on campus for an official visit, but right now Auburn and UCF could be the favorites in Story’s recruitment.
Auburn Undercover reported that Story had this to say about Auburn and his recruitment:
"“Auburn is definitely a real factor. One of the top schools. I like the coaching staff and the plan Coach (Bryan) Harsin has. He really has a great plan.”"
Back in March, Auburn Undercover caught up with Story and he had this to say about new defensive line coach Nick Eason:
"“He was very active. He does a lot of running around. He’s just very active and I like that about him.”"
Story also had some thoughts on the new Auburn football staff and his visit to the Plains:
"“It was fun to watch them practice. Just to get in there and see how practice was. I was impressed with the way it went. It was very organized.”“It’s a great staff. You can tell it’s like a family bond. They have a great relationship with each other, every last one of them. And you can tell each and every one of them is building a relationship with their players.”"
Auburn football could be the leader in the clubhouse right now for Story, but this recruitment is far from over. Bryan Harsin would love to land one of the best defensive linemen in the state of Alabama and defensive line is one of the biggest needs for the Tigers this recruiting cycle. Look for Nick Eason to close this one out this fall and the Tigers may have their next great defensive lineman.
