This June has been extremely busy for the Auburn football team as Bryan Harsin and his coaching staff host the first month of in-person recruiting on the Plains. Bryan

The Tennessee native named the Tigers in his top five schools along with Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State. Hood spent time at both Mississippi schools in an unofficial capacity, and since his OV to Auburn has been to Athens and is currently in Coral Cables.

According to Dawg Nation, Hood has three major priorities when it comes to choosing a school: family approval of his decision, close proximity to his family, a place where he can be successful, and a program that will send him to the NFL.

After his recent visit to the campus of UGA, it seems that the Dawgs may have emerged as the favorite, and he told Dawg Nation that there are two programs recruiting him the hardest:

"“I would say that Miami and Georgia they are recruiting me the most,” Hood said. “That’s all I will say there.”"

This is less than encouraging for the Tigers, as the offensive line is a place of need for Bryan Harsin’s team. Hood still has two official visits to take, but nothing is scheduled as of yet, and he hopes to make his final decision sometime in August.

Georgia, the top contender to beat for Jacob Hood, already has the advantage in that his family is full of UGA fans and his cousin is a UGA graduate. He told 247Sports earlier this month that the Dawgs have had “great communication” with him, and he likes their success in the NFL. However, UGA doesn’t have the greatest need for offensive linemen with 11 signed in the previous two classes.

Hood is currently on his official visit to Miami at Paradise Camp. Fellow FanSided site Canes Warning reports that the OT is one of six official visitors to the U this weekend. While Miami is probably further from his family in Hillsboro, TN than Hood wants to be, they’re pushing hard and his official visit could sway the decision.

The Auburn football program has always been at the top of the list for Hood, but it seems that Kirby Smart and the Dawgs could be hard to beat.
